When dealing with space stations, I usually like to leave those for last after eliminating most, if not all of the opposing fleet. When you kill enought ships, if youve had enought control points for enought time, you should just in by points, and the enemy remaining fleets will just vanish focus the subsystems to damage shields and engines, so they cant boost around anymore.Ī lance heavy fleet (longer range and always precise) with a decent escort complement should do the trick. The computer will always tend to prioritize the control points over killing you. Then use the main fleet to slowly kill off the orks, while a small force of escorts (two or three ALWAYS on "running silent" order) keeps capping all of the control points as soon as they leave them and theyre out of sensor range.

Other factions agressively invade bordering systems, that way they at least give up on 400-800 power in a controlled system for a turn or two.

Result: I lost 4500 fleetpower and six fleets, they lost 600 fleetpower out of 3000 (and will most likely just repair that next turn). They arrived at their destination just fine, didn't they?Īlright, new stupid plan: send in 6 fleets (2 at a time, grumble, grumble) to see if I can autobattle their ludicrous power down. I think that safely retreating to the edge of the map should hold no risks at all to experience 4 ships. And I lose half of those (experience 4!) ships just for "retreating through the warp" (even though they are supposedly less susceptible to warp risks at high experience), which is also odd, because I let these ships safely go to the edge of the map. I can't break through that, I've even send in 2 experienced Admech fleets to Nova Cannon their defences (which worked), buuut. Which means I can send in just shy of 1500 fleetpower (renown 9 currently) to their combined fleetpower of 3000. This is because they have built mines (so i can only send in 2 fleets, and they can happily sit on 3 fleets), defence platforms, a space station AND 3 fleets worth 800 power each.(Seriously, this place feels more of a Fortress World than Cadia.) I'm currently unable to defeat the Orks holding Odissar in the Medusa Cluster. I'll go over the one that irks me the most currently: Passive AI Doomstacks So I'm currently going through the imperial campain (medium difficulty), and i'm really liking it so far, but there are some things wich could use more options.
